Toxicity Reduction Evaluations

RBI has helped several clients negotiate the challenging process of a toxicity reduction evaluation (TRE). RBI prepares TRE work plans and TRE action plans; reviews and evaluates whole-effluent toxicity bioassay results; conducts facility performance evaluations; and directs, reviews, and interprets the toxicity identification evaluation (TIE). RBI also interacts with Regional Water Quality Control Board staff on behalf of the discharger to effectively negotiate TRE requirements and efficiently conclude the TRE processes. TREs that RBI staff have successfully concluded or are ongoing are listed below:

  • City of Stockton Regional Wastewater Control Facility, Selenastrum capricornutum and Ceriodaphnia dubia
  • Town of Windsor Wastewater Treatment, Reclamation and Disposal Facility, Selenastrum capricornutum
  • City of Davis Water Pollution Control Plant, Selenastrum capricornutum
  • City of Woodland Wastewater Treatment Plant, Selenastrum capricornutum
  • City of Brentwood Wastewater Treatment Plant, Ceriodaphnia dubia
